Sharing a collection of home office desk ideas and options for working from home, kids’ homework stations or to double as a nightstand in your bedroom!

A collection of affordable and simple home office desk ideas that work well if you're in need of a dedicated work space at home! These also work well for children's homework stations, a bill-paying desk, or to double as a nightstand in your bedroom!
Sources for these home office desks, and many more, can be found further down in the post.

After sharing my top tips for working from home last week, I received several messages asking if I had any posts about desks or office chairs. So today, I’m sharing a collection of affordable and simple home office desk ideas that work both in a temporary solution or more long-term! If you’re on the hunt for desk chairs, be sure to check out my post on stylish & affordable home office chairs.

In my post last week with tips for working from home, I stressed the importance of having a dedicated work space. The space does not have to be fancy at all. However, having a spot in your home you consider your working spot can help you be much more focused and productive!

Simple Home Office Desk Ideas

The desks I’m sharing below all have a clean, classic look and all come in under $300! And actually, with the exception of only a few, they’re all well under $200. These all work well as a home office desk, a spot for your kids to do their homework, a bill paying station, and could even be used in lieu of a nightstand on one side of the bed. I also like that most of the desks I selected fit well in smaller spaces in case you don’t have a dedicated home office.

Following are my top picks for desks. I’ve scoured the reviews and these all seem to be winners! Many of these also come in additional finishes or colors options once you click through. Simply click on any of the images below to learn more about each of the desks shown.

I absolutely love the legs (and nine color options) on this petite spindle leg writing desk. It would be a really pretty option if you needed to make space for a desk in your bedroom!

This more modern writing desk is a great budget find and is perfect for really tight spaces. It also has a nice clean look that would blend in with many decorating styles.

And if you’re needing a solution that is easy to wipe down, I’m loving this marble top walnut desk that also has such pretty lines!

Our Home Office Desks & Other Room Details

In our home office, we have two matching wood desks. Although they’re a bit on the wider side, these desks are still simple and have just enough storage in the drawer to keep our desktops tidy! Granted, they’re not usually quite this clean 😉

    Hi Sarah,
This is so timely! I was just looking for new desk lamps for my office space over the weekend and looked up your posts to get some inspo! I found a couple at Target but would love to see what you suggest also.
Thank you for still posting and sharing!
