Blue Summer Bedroom Decor

Decorating Ideas, Tips and Trends, Room Makeovers + Design Plans

It may have taken until the last day of July, but I finally updated our summer bedroom decor for the “new” season! Since I don’t have a full summer home tour ready for you yet, I thought I’d share the new look in our blue summer bedroom.

Blue Summer Bedroom Decor

Here’s a look at our bedroom after making a few simple swaps in our bedroom. I actually kept the look very similar to the simple bedroom updates I made for spring. But it was time for a little refresh since we’d been using that other bedding since January. The quilt and Euro shams are similar to what we had, but I love the more intense blue for the summer months!

Overall, our bedroom is still very simple. Down the road we’ll likely tackle a fun project to take advantage of the vaulted ceiling (maybe beams?). I’d also love to add drapes to up the cozy factor. But for now, simple bedding swaps are an easy way to bring new life to the space.

A coastal bedroom with a white jute rug, light blue upholstered bed, blue summer bedroom decor, a white and rattan nightstand, and a cane wrapped vase filled with saw palm fronds.

I still can’t get over the fact that now that we live in Florida, I pretty much have perpetual access to palm fronds. I just wish the cats didn’t think they were snacks or I’d probably clip fresh ones much more frequently!

I’m still so in love with our light blue upholstered bed. And probably even more thrilled that I found this look-for-less that we used at Hola Beaches Casita and they are very similar! The Serena & Lily version is a bit taller, has the French seams, and has significantly more fabric options, but is obviously much more expensive. But this option really is such a great alternative for a very similar vibe.

I selected this particular quilt and Euro shams because I loved the color and patterns, but also because it’s reversible! Essentially two bedding sets in one! I think the set would also carry nicely into fall with the addition of some brown velvet pillows and a simple swap of the palms for fall foliage.

The pattern on the quilt can definitely be very bold, but folded at the foot of the bed over white bedding, it is the perfect addition of color. I haven’t tried using the reverse side showing, so I’m excited to try that, as well.

I’m loving this view reflected in our coral style mirror from the other side of the bedroom! It’s hard to get a wide enough angle of the room to include this mirror (since it’s in the opposite corner), so thought this was a fun way to include it!

Summer Bathroom

The adjoining bathroom also got a mini update with a simple swap of greenery too! But mostly I wanted to share this space after my post on our dining room refresh. This is where I’m thinking I’ll try wallpaper for the first time. I’ve wanted this paper for years, and I plan to install it (horizontally) in this space. I’m hoping to tackle that as soon as I can get it measured and ordered!

In other news, although I still want summer to last forever, I already planned out my Christmas decor for this year. Who needs fall?! 😉

    Hi Sarah,
Bathroom will look terrific with that paper installed horizontally.

I am attaching my powder bath photo. I recently had it papered and had the paper installed vertically to make the bath seem taller. I did something I’ve never done before and had it installed on the ceiling also. It makes a statement and everyone comments on how much they love it on the ceiling.

Well no photo as your website won’t let me. 😣. Oh well.
